Chile 3CV Certification: 14 Chinese Truck Brands Are Already Cleared for Euro VI

Chile's 3CV publishes a brand-by-brand roll of emission-certified heavy vehicles — and fourteen Chinese truck brands already hold Euro VI records. Here is the list, and what it does not tell you.

There is a public document in Chile that tells you, brand by brand, which heavy vehicles have already cleared the country's emission certification. Almost nobody outside Chile uses it.
It matters because of a date. Since 5 January 2026, a heavy vehicle applying for first registration in Chile must meet Euro VI or the equivalent US EPA standard. If the chassis you are being offered has no Euro VI entry in that document, no amount of paperwork will get it registered.

Where the data comes from

Chile's Ministry of Transport publishes the emission certification roll through 3CV (Centro de Control y Certificación Vehicular): "Vehículos Pesados Certificados por el 3CV con Emisiones." We worked from the 31 July 2026 edition.
That edition contains 7,024 certification records across 130 brand strings. Of those, we classified 1,173 records as belonging to Chinese brands.
Of the brands we classified as Chinese, 14 hold Euro VI certification records, totalling 120 records.

One note on the table: Sinotruk and Sinotruck are two different strings in the official file. The model naming is the same system (Sitrak / Howo / Sitrack) and the importer is the same, Tracsa SPA — they are two spellings of the same manufacturer. Combined, Sinotruk holds 21 Euro VI records.
The first tier by record count is Dongfeng, JAC, Sinotruk, Foton and FAW.

The 2026 activity picture

The roll records 1997 to the present, so a brand's presence tells you less than its recent activity. Through the 31 July 2026 edition, Chinese brands recorded 74 new certifications in 2026, across 15 brands:

No Aplica means the emission stage does not apply — these are battery-electric vehicles. There are nine of them in the 2026 Chinese-brand batch, including JAC's N180 EV 4x2 truck (18,000 kg PBV), Sinotruk's Sitrak C9H EV 600 kWh tractor (31,000 kg), Dongfeng's DF-819 EV truck and DF-2770 EV 6x4 tractor (25,000 kg), and FAW's F-2560 EV tractor (25,000 kg).

Listed is not the same as available — and the stage matters more than the date

Two caveats make this roll useful rather than misleading.
First, certification in Chile remains valid for as long as the vehicle is unchanged. Nothing expires it. So the roll is an archive: brands that stopped shipping years ago are still in it.
Second, and more decisive: an old certification does not satisfy a new rule. From 5 January 2026 the requirement is Euro VI. A brand with thirty records at EURO II, IV and V has a long history in Chile and no Euro VI precedent at all.
These are the Chinese brands that hold records on the roll but no EURO VI entry in the 31 July 2026 edition:

Two entries in that table are worth pausing on, because they cut against the obvious reading of the first table:
  • XCMG holds five records, all at EURO V, latest 2021-11-30. XCMG is well known as a crane manufacturer — but this roll certifies vehicles and engines, not crane attachments. A crane on the back of a truck is certified as a vehicle through its own path; the crane brand being famous for cranes does not put it on this list at Euro VI.
  • BYD appears with No Aplica only. That is the electric route, not a Euro VI one.
None of which is a verdict on any brand — and absence from the Euro VI list has a specific, narrow meaning. It means the roll holds no Euro VI record for that brand as of 31 July 2026. It does not mean the brand has left Chile, that it cannot obtain certification, or that it is inactive in other segments; several of these names hold records in buses or light vehicles. It means a buyer cannot point to a precedented Euro VI certification for them, and that is the whole of the claim.
What the document certifies is narrower than it looks: vehicles, by model, on the date shown — nothing wider.

Three limits of this data, stated up front

1. The roll does not record country of origin. The fields are brand, model, PBV, certificate number, certification date, engine, emission standard and Chilean importer. There is no "origin" column. Our classification of which brands are Chinese is ours, derived from brand ownership — not a finding of the register. Five names could not be resolved either way with the evidence we hold: Landking, Aucwell, SITOM, Fengtai and JiangSu. Landking appears in the tables above because its record set is material, and it is marked as unconfirmed where it appears.
2. This is the emission certification roll, not a type-approval register. For trucks and tractor units, 3CV emission certification under DS 55/1994 is the gate that matters, and it also tests that the vehicle was built from new, unused parts. It is not the CHI-e per-unit homologation channel used for light and medium vehicles. The two are different processes and are routinely confused in supplier marketing.
3. Records here prove certification. They do not prove sales. We hold no Chilean sales or fleet data for any brand, and we will not rank brands by popularity from this document. If you want to know which brand is active in Chilean mining or construction fleets, ask operators — not this roll.

Why a buyer should care

A crane truck quotation has two halves: the chassis and the crane. The crane is the part you spend the interesting money on. The chassis is the part that can be refused at registration.
From 5 January 2026, the practical filter is simple: does the chassis family you are being offered appear on this roll at EURO VI? If yes, the emission side of the certification is already precedented, and what remains is the applicant's filing — which, under the rules, has to be made by a Chilean manufacturer, assembler, importer or their representative, not by an overseas exporter.
If no, you are not buying an emission-certified vehicle. You are buying a development project with a truck attached.

What we will not tell you

  • We will not tell you a brand is currently selling in Chile. The roll proves certification, nothing more.
  • We will not rank brands by volume. We do not have the data, and a certification count is not a sales count.
  • We will not assert the ownership of the five unresolved names. Where we do not know, the table says so.
  • We will not expand beyond the published fields. Nationality, sales, aftersales coverage and parts availability are all outside this document.

What to send us

  1. The duty cycle — mining haulage, construction or general freight.
  1. Crane capacity and working radius — so the load chart section is chosen for the job.
  1. Chassis family preference, including whether you want a base already carrying EURO VI certification on the Chilean roll.
  1. Your Chilean importer, or who will act as the applicant for 3CV.
Send those and we will come back with a configuration and the certification route it has to travel — including which parts of the file we prepare and which parts only your importer can file.
