Why this build
The crane is a 12 t five-section knuckle boom reaching 12 m with a 14 m working height — the long reach is what allows the truck to build a load from a stack rather than only from the tail. The grab head can be a 3+2 grab or a 4-petal grab, and both the crane and grab head rotate 360° continuously.
The tipping body is 7,880 × 2,400 × 1,500 mm in 3 mm side / 5 mm floor steel with a front-mounted single ram, densified cross members and four tipping seats. At 12,000 mm overall the truck needs a decent yard to turn, but one trip moves a large volume of logs.
The cab is four-point floating with air-suspension seats, air conditioning and a crane-dedicated PTO with remote throttle.
